Science content creator Mikayla Morgan, aka “Astronaut Barbie,” knows she’s in Houston to make her insufferable billionaire boss’s new space venture look good. Getting her millions of followers on board is her ticket to building a stable home close to family for her young daughter. A former NASA candidate, she’s been training as an alternate alongside the Phoenix crew for months, knowing she’ll never actually get to fulfill her dream of flying to the International Space Station. But when a veteran astronaut falls sick, Mikayla’s the only one who can take his place and keep the mission on track. The only problem is that she’ll be flying with her former classmate—and one-time mistake—Alejandro Lopez, the mission’s infuriatingly handsome commander.

When a critical malfunction on Phoenix strands Mikayla and Alejandro at the ISS, Mikayla must set aside her hurt feelings about Alejandro’s betrayal all those years ago as they work together to repair the ship. Just as they begin to realize the flame between them is still burning hot, catastrophe strikes, forcing all the station’s inhabitants to evacuate.

With their ship still in dire straits and time running out, Mikayla and Alejandro’s fragile reconnection is tested as they fight one insurmountable obstacle after another. But will their ingenuity be enough for Mikayla to reunite with her daughter?
